WHO WE ARE

One of the biggest gifts facilitation can provide is the opportunity to learn and grow in community. Amy Bobb and Lisa Lothian have known each other for a long time and are passionate about the work they do through facilitation. They both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience and provide a rich and engaging learning environment.

They offer a variety of workshops and hope to be able to provide a rich learning experience to a variety of organizations and communities.

Lisa Lothian

Lisa “enjoys being connected to conversations about growth and development. As a facilitator, I value the experience of shared learning, experiential learning, storytelling, and providing an environment that is safe and offers opportunities for individuals to really connect to ideas.”
Lisa Lothian, has worked in the non-profit sector managing programs and teams to impact and motivate change. She began her professional career, applying her background in Psychology, working with perinatal women and their children funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. After her 10 years of supporting families and improved nutrition and attachment outcomes, she transitioned into bed-based treatment program management for women and Indigenous adolescent populations. Through this transition she has expanded her knowledge base to include gender specific approaches, trauma informed practice and cultural safety. The past 5 years has brought about opportunities to work with and understand the impacts of homelessness and poverty, inter-generational trauma and the criminalization of women and youth. Lisa has also received a certificate in Leadership and Management and is a certified Mental Health First Aid facilitator.

Amy Bobb

I grew up knowing that living in community was important. My parents were strong social justice advocates and wanted to provide a safe place for people who were struggling to feel safe and seen. In our home in East Vancouver, we had various people from all walks of life living in our home. They were often marginalized, sometimes seen as outcasts, and in need of shelter and support. These people became part of our family and through learning their stories I realized that most struggles don’t start as adults. It was during this time that I decided to become a social worker and a play therapist so that I could support children and their families through their healing journey, providing them with that sense of community and belonging that we all long for and need.

I completed my Bachelor of Social work in 2007 and worked in a variety of settings with children and families but never truly felt at home until I discovered play therapy. For the last 6 years I have been the owner and therapist at Little Village Play Therapy where I offer play therapy to children and youth of all ages. While I love my work as a therapist and the sacred time I get to spend with the children, I have noticed over the years that my work with the adults in the child’s life is also really important to their healing journey. This realization has led me to facilitation because it provides me the opportunity to share my knowledge, offer new perspectives and engage in meaningful conversations.
